In my opinion the importance of physical activity during the current pandemic has not been highlighted enough. With many sporting facilities being closed down, the ability to go out for a run, probably more than ever before, can help to play a part in keeping people active to benefit both physical and mental wellbeing.
Running is arguably the cheapest, easiest way of being active, losing weight and improving physical wellbeing. Unfortunately, many people are prevented from running due to injuries and pain. The vast majority of running related injuries are preventable with a slight change in approach and awareness from the individual. With this in mind we aim to reduce the incidence of injuries within Cambridge and avoid the frustrations and negativity that injuries cause. This is the reason the Cambridge Running Clinic has been created, with the principle aim of encouraging anyone to improve and maintain physical activity levels whilst reducing the likelihood of being unable to due to injury.
Over the past 10 years of treating athletes within Cambridge, we have been fortunate to have helped a number of inspirational and high level runners, including those who have won World Championship titles and set World Records at both International competitions and Ultra-endurance challenges. We have also provided the injury treatment for the Cambridge University Athletics Club and Cross Country teams for the past six years. A massive thank you goes out to everyone who has assisted and continues to assist with developing the Cambridge Running Clinic. We encourage as much feedback as possible on how to make improvements and for anyone who would like to contribute, please do reach out and get in touch.
